a lot of progress is being made on the new layout and i'm so excited to show it off once it's finished :3 i basically built the site from the ground up again and so far, it's looking pretty cool with all the new things i've added!
as of now, i have finished the index, about, ramblings, and, after much review of w3schools forums and other code help sites, the gallery page. "why was there such an uphill battle for the gallery page?" you may be wondering. it's because i have completely redone the layout of my site!! i took a lot of inspo from ribose's "free stuff" drawer because i like their site a lot and the code they used was pretty beginner friendly, imo. (go check out their site btw, it's awesome :D) i didn't use the exact layouts they had, obviously, but i just worked it out on my own how to get my site to look similar to one of the examples and built the rest from there.
what i'm most excited for people to see is the new ramblings page because i think it's really cute. there are still some kinks i want to smooth out for it, but it still feels like an improvement from my current one.
this whole process has been very fun for me, even with having to start from scratch, it feels like falling right back into my UX hyperfixation and i'm so along for the ride. it also feels great to work out this part of my brain again. if you don't use it you lose it, right?
there is still a lot to be done; i'm now working on the commissions and resources pages, and i have yet to do optimizations for mobile/other screen sizes. there is still a lot to be done in terms of accessibility as well, like adding alt text to all my images. but there my lil progress update for those who are curious.
