Okay, so before anyone gets mad at me... I'm having a great time playing the game. My first and only experience with the game is playing an English patched version of the original Tomodachi Collection for my DSi that I found on the Internet Archive after a lot of searching. And I didn't want to bother with trying to download emulators and stuff to my laptop because I don't play much anymore and I barely have the space to do so anyways. But I digress.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is good. Like, really good.
And therein lies the issue: I'm having too much fun playing it that I'm avoiding my other responsibilities.
Since the game came out, I don't think I've missed a single check in. Or at least nothing longer than a day. I spent the first, like, week designing the Miis and then the next month just playing touys. So far, I've got 40 Miis on my island, and honeslty I think I might stop there. And I'm really proud of the Miis I do have, haha.
The first set of Miis I made when the demo dropped were myself (Miiself), Susato Mikotoba from the Great Ace Attorney, and Pearl Fey from Ace Attorney 2. It's been a looooooong time since I use any sort of Mii creator, and TDLTD is a treasure trove of parts that you can just smash together, plus the face paint is really cool, too. I've only used it for one (I think?) character so far because I like my Miis to be able to emote and everything properly. But I have seen a few TikToks about how to do facepaint and still have your Miis' faces work properly so maybe a island-wide redesign might be in order.
After the game released, the next Mii I added was Tifa Lockhart from FFVII. Obviously. And I wifed her up :J
Now on my island, I've got most of the AA and GAA cast—mostly from the Phoenix Wright games because those are the ones I'm most familiar with, and only the 221B Baker street gang and Kazuma because duh— I have the Wattersons, the Deltarune kids (Kris, Susie, Noelle, Catti, Berdly, Lancer, and Ralsei for now), the main FFVII characters (Cloud, Aerith, Zack, Yuffie, Barret, Marlene, and Cid), and the Parappa the Rapper characters, too.
I wanted to add the 999 characters (minus Ace and the 9th man because fuck those guys), a few OCs, and maybe some Haikyuu!! characters from my first island on my DSi. Also maybe Crowley and Aziraphale because I loved GO3 and I miss them so, so much. I do have 30 spots still so we'll see.
My island is also. so. gay. There are only two straight couples on my island; Richard and Nicole Watterson, and I'm trying to get Zack and Aerith together. Parappa also has a crush on Sunny, of course, but so does Katy Kat and I'm lowkey (highkey) rooting for her. Let's go lesbians! Phoenix and Miles are together. Mia Fey and Lana Skye got together, broke up, and are back together and trying to move in together. Maya and Franziska got together in the first week of existence on the island. Noelle and Berdly have a crush on Susie, and Catti is crushing on Noelle (canon in my mind). Ryunosuke and Kazuma are dancing around each other (mutually crushing for like two weeks now, c'mon gays). Rammy and Ma-san are together also. Yeah. In my head everyone is gay and all the guys are butches or he/him lesbians. It makes me smile.

...I love this game. Unhealthily. I have slowed down my playing, mostly just doing checkins throughout the day. The game is still really fun, and I love how much you can customize things. I think my main gripe with this game is the clothing options in the Palette House. I wish there was more variety or that you could alter the silouhuette of some pieces so you could make different types of clothes, but I guess that would take a lot of programming and I doubt they'd drop new clothes styles in an update, if this game ever gets an update.
Still, I'm living the dream. Ahahaha. Haha. Ha. :J
